Hazza Bin Zayed views strategies of Secretariat of Abu Dhabi Executive Council to develop government work system

(WAM) — H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, visited the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, where he viewed the work done by the subsidiary departments and offices, and discussed with the work teams the means to raise the standards of government work according to the best international practices.

Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Dr. Fahad Matar Al Niyadi, Director-General of the General Secretariat of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and several directors of the departments and offices, as well as work teams in the General Secretariat of the Executive Council, received His Highness.

Sheikh Hazza was explained several developmental projects being executed by the General Secretariat with the aim of consolidating the government’s work system, either at the Secretariat level or at the level of the government authorities in Abu Dhabi. These would facilitate and improve the government services offered to the community and are in line with the total development journey witnessed by Abu Dhabi, which would strengthen its leading position at the regional and international level.

He examined the steps taken by the General Secretariat to develop the legislative system and keep up with the needs of the business sector, as well as the developments in the economic, social and service areas. He also reviewed the system for an appraisal of the performance of the authorities, in addition to the strategies that would facilitate effective communication between the government authorities, as well as guarantee the integration of efforts, and move towards establishing a culture of excellence in government work through awareness and practices of the employees of the government authorities in the emirate.

Sheikh Hazza viewed several initiatives and projects that are being executed by the General Secretariat, as part of its strategic plan, including the ‘Knights’ Race’ Project, which aims to encourage the employees to apply the best systems and professional practices in a positive and competitive environment.

He also learnt about the interactive initiatives launched and executed by the General Secretariat to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s identity and preserve its distinguished media’s reputation, as well as promote the emirate according to its stature worldwide as a favoured destination to live and work, and respond to what it has achieved through advancement in the sectors of business, education, health and infrastructure.

Sheikh Hazza took account of the progress in the ‘Imagine Abu Dhabi’ project, which was launched by the General Secretariat to encourage the members of the Abu Dhabi community to contribute with innovative ideas and develop a government work system in all its sectors and specialisations. His Highness also visited the daycare at the General Secretariat building.

He stressed the importance of continuing the efforts to preserve the emirate’s achievements in the journey of development, which is considered an important foundation to establish Abu Dhabi as a favoured destination with a creative environment, which would cater to all the demands for creativity, innovation and pioneering.
