Organizing Committee Reviews Preparations for Egyptian Super Cup

Following the approval of Abu Dhabi Sports Council on forming the Organizing Committee of the Egyptian Football Super Cup, the committee held its first meeting chaired by H.E. Mohammed Bin Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of UAE Football Association, Suhail Al Arifi, Vice Chairman and members of the committee: Rashid Suhail, Ahmed Al Musa’abi, Saeed Al Muhairi, Jamal Murad, Mohammed Al Shateri, Rashid Abdullah Al Ameri, Ahmed Wahab.

During the meeting chaired by Suhail Arifi, Vice Chairman, and held at Abu Dhabi Sports Council head office and attended by all members, representatives of Presentation Co. and representatives of Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Al Arifi emphasized in his welcoming speech the significance of the coming match and its role in pushing forward the plans and vision of Abu Dhabi Sports Council in hosting the most important international sporting events, and ADSC’s dedicated efforts to present all sporting events in the best and fully organized manner. “The committee chaired by Mohammed Bin Hazzam Al Dhaheri is so keen to ensure all tasks be carried out in accordance with a unified mechanism that guarantees the harmonization of all parties’ efforts during stages of organizing the match in the best possible manner,” said he.

Al Arifi commended hosting the third edition of the Egyptian Football Super Cup match at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, the masterpiece of the international stadiums, on Sunday 12th January 2018 in Al Ain at 09:00 p.m. UAE local time (7 p.m. Cairo local time) with expectations to be attended by nearly 25,000 fans.

Al Arifi stressed during the meeting on the importance of securing all the requirements to ensure the success of the match through setting up a plan to distribute tasks to all working teams according to a timetable that includes details of all steps required to be completed before the match.

During the meeting, attendees also reviewed the security plan, fans entry points plan, marketing plan, TV broadcasting plan and the volunteer teams plan besides the security plan. The attendees also decided to start issuing permits for all the media representatives as of Wednesday 3rd January until Saturday 6th January. The committee members also reviewed locations of football fields where the two teams will conduct their pre-match training sessions. Additionally, it was approved to hold the pre-match press conferences for both head coaches, Husam Al Badri and Husam Hasan on Thursday 11th January 2017 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

The committee also commenced its coordination measures with all competent parties with the aim to present a distinctive edition of a great sport event that will be of an added value to the successes of the Egyptian Football Super Cup matches which are held within the framework of the longstanding historical relationships between UAE and Egypt, especially after the great successes achieved during the past two experiences and important accomplishments which witnessed the large public support of the Egyptian fans on UAE land.
