The Higher Local Organizing Committee of FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 Meets at ADSC

The higher local organizing committee of the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 held a meeting at Abu Dhabi Sports Council Offices on Wednesday, 8 November 2017.

The meeting came to review and to discuss latest preparations to hold this event in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain City in the period 6-16 December 2017.

So far, seven teams are confirmed to take place in this championship. Those teams are Al Jazira UAE- Arabian Gulf League Champions, Auckland City-champions of Oceania, and Real Madrid of Spain -UAFEA champions, Pachuca of Mexico champions of the Concacaf, and Wydad Casablanca of Morocco champions of Africa.

The champions of Libertadores (Lanus of Argentina or Gremio of Brazil) will be decided on 29 of this November.

The meeting-which was chaired by H.E. Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Romaithi, General Commander of Abu Dhabi Police, Deputy Chairman of ADSC Board of Directors, and Head of the Higher Local Organizing Committee, reviewed and discussed all respective matters related to this event. This included security, marketing, media, technical and operational aspects.

The meeting has been attended by members of the committee: HE Mohamed Ebraheem Al- Mahmood, HE Aref Hamad Al Awani, HE Mohammed Hazzam Al Dhaheri, Mr. Nasser Al Shehhi as rapporteur and John Lickerish, CEO of Flash Entertainment Company. .

The FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 will kick off on 6 December 2017 at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain City, with the final to be played on 16 December 2017 at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi.

By the end of the meeting, H.E. Mohammed Khalfan Al Romaithi praised the preparations to host and to organize the FIFA CWC UAE 2017.
