Al Ain Is Held to A Draw Against Fujairah

Unexpectedly, Al Ain was held to a draw against Al Fujairah by 2-2 in the match held at Al Fujairah Stadium of matchweek 5 of the Arabian Gulf League. Al Ain scored through Marcus Berg at “15” and Ibrahim Diaky at “78”, while Al Fujairah scored through Mohammed Benyettou “39” and Khaled Abdullah “88”.

By this result, Al Ain is adding another point to their balance to become 13 points holding the second spot in the standing table behind Al Sharjah with difference in goals. Meanwhile, Al Fujairah occupies the tenth spot with 5 points in their balance.

Sturdy Determination

The Boss exhibited their determination since the kickoff whistle and that was evident by the complete domination of the maneuvers zone in midfield, in addition to exerting high pressure from depth and flanks. They crowned their efforts and proved their superiority by scoring the leading goal through Marcus Berg. Mohammed Ahmad squared a perfect ball to Marcus in the box who did not hesitate to finish it into the back Saleh Rabee’s net “15”.

Al Ain resumed their attacks against the net of the home team. This high pressure led Al Fujairah to adopt a compact defensive style trying to reach Al Ain area through long high passes to build quick counter attacks. Ibrahim Diaky insisted to leave his mark in this match and restored the lead for the boss in the 78th minute, when Amer Abdulrahman’s out-swinging crossed corner kick was received by Ahmed, who squared the ball to Diaky. The super sub drilled it calmly past Rabee, making it 2-1 for the away side.

Just two minutes before the fulltime whistle, Khalid Abdullah scored the equalizer for the home team when he converted Fernando Gabriel’s cross from the corner past Khalid Eissa with a powerful header.

Then the match referee whistled to end the match while the board shows the result 2-2.
