Al Ain Thrashes Al Nasr by 3-1 and Tops the Standing Table

Al Ain FC achieved an easy 3-1 win over Al Nasr at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in matchday 4 of the Arabian Gulf Cup on Friday 12 October 2019.

Al Ain finished the first half taking the lead by 2-0. The three goals were scored by Jamal Marouf “13 and 53), Caio Canedo “45”. Meanwhile, the guest scored their sole goal by Gabriel Valentini “86”.

By this victory, Al Ain is now tied on seven points with Group A leaders Shabab Al Ahli after winning two games and drawing one, while Al Nasr are fourth on four points.

It took Al Ain only 13 minutes to take the lead and thanks to a goal from Jamal Marouf. Jamal got to the end of an inch-perfect cross from Caio only to send it into the back of the net past keeper Ahmed Shambieh and put his side 1-0 up.

Al Ain goalkeeper, Mohammed Busenda, was the star of the match when he saved his net several times when he palmed off the ball within the box professionally and skillfully. He was one of the reasons to win the match by his stunning reactions and high concentration.

Just before the break, the Boss added their second of the night as Caio Canedo headed Salem Abdulla’s cross into the back of the net to give Al Ain a 2-0 advantage ahead of halftime “45”.

Only eight minutes after the restart, Jamal Marouf further extended the hosts’ lead. After an impressive teamwork, the ball fell to Marouf inside the box who rounded the keeper and slotted into the open net “53”.

Four minutes from time, Gabriel Valentini reduced the deficit for the guests “86” and then the match referee, Ahmad Salem Khalfan whistled to end the match while the stadium screen shows 3-1 in favor of Al Ain.
