Juan Carlos Garrido, the head coach of Al Ain FC, expressed his deep pleasure for winning the home team, Dibba Al Fujairah, in matchweek 24 of the Arabian Gulf League. He stated in the post-match press conference: “We deservedly won the home team by 2-0. I am happy that we were able to snatch the three points of the match which were in deep need for such a victory following a long period of negative results.”

He added: “We did well in the first half and dominated the game and were able to score our first goal. In the second half, Dibba returned to the match and were lucky we did not concede a goal. Indeed, I would like to hail the back-line players for their balanced performance, and I would like to praise the stunning performance of Khalid Abdul Rahman who did not play official matches since a long time.”

Commenting on a question on the team’s performance and whether he is expecting that they will be back to the victories track, he said: “In each match, we are missing the efforts of many players. Today, our starting line-up did not include Barman, Berg, Bandar, Mohammed Fayez, Mohannad, Rayan and other players due to injury. Indeed, you cannot win when you do not have the best players in the squad. I wish I could have my best players in the coming matches to further improve the team’s results and our spot in the standing table.”

As for renewing the players’ contracts, he said: “Actually, my contract is about to expire, and I have no idea about the Club’s plans in the coming period. Nobody discussed with me my future with the team or the preparations for the new season. Of course, I do respect the decisions of the Club’s Management.”
