The Gulf player’s nature does not make it easy to paly abroad as professionals

I thank the Boss fans for their warm welcome

I feel proud and honored … I will not respond to those who expected I would fail

In an exclusive interview with the newly arrived midfielder of Al Ain FC, Mohammed Hilal stated that my football career started in the neighborhood like any other young players.

“I played for my school team and played in its indoor courts, and the reaction of my colleagues made me feel confident I have the talent in this game. So, I cling to football as days pass and love it and started to further improve my performance until the day I joined Ajman Football Academy through one of the scouts.”

“I was 14 years old at that time, and my first test was in a match between the teams of 14 and 15 years. Immediately after the end of the confrontation, the coach said he would like to join me to the team officially. I progressed through Ajman junior teams until I was promoted to the Ajman first football team when I was 18 years old. My first official match was in the Etisalat Cup against Al Ain FC and my head coach at that time was the Tunisian Fathi El Jabal,” Hilal said.

Reaction

In response to a question on his reaction when he received the offer of Al Ain, he said: “It is not a secret to tell you that I needed a space of time to understand what was going on. I had a genuine feeling of being held responsible. Indeed, Al Ain is not like any other club, and I took my decision to accept the offer.”

“I am well aware that I am facing a great challenge, and I pray to Allah Almighty to help me and my teammates succeed in achieving the aspirations of the fans of this great Club. I aspire to be included in the team’s starting lineup and be qualified to obtain my “international badge” because Al Ain will be my gateway to joining the UAE national team,” he said.

The League is “Ainawi”

As for his expectations to compete to win the title of the league this new season, he said: “I do not prefer to speak the language of expectations in the world of football, because I am convinced that football is a collective game that rewards the best team and the ready one and above all the team willing to achieve its desired goals.”

“I do believe that Al Ain has the fundamentals of the Champ with all due respect to the other competitors based on the efforts exerted by the players during the preseason training camp. Additionally, players desire to win all titles and their sense of responsibility towards the badge of this great Club. They do spare no efforts to achieve the goals of the Club and make the fans happy.”

Family Atmosphere

Commenting on a question on his opinion in the atmosphere of the team’s camp, he said: “Actually, the spirit of one family is what distinguishes the nature of the relationships among all the squad stars in the away training camp. All the delegation members are so cooperative, and all facilities and equipment are available which make us so eager to do our best.”

Spirit of Challenge

Mohammed Halal hailed the Croatian head coach, Ivan Leko, highlighting his personal aspects and that everyone likes him for he exerts lots of efforts to instill the spirit of positivity among the players.

“He is always with the players in and out of the training fields, and he is so strict about the policy of discipline, commitment, and seriousness. He is so keen to instill in the players the spirit of challenge in all training sessions, and above all, he enjoys a strong personality.”

Unlimited Aspirations

Commenting on a question about his ambitions according to the team’s priorities, he said: “Once you have the chance to join a big team like Al Ain, it is a must your aspirations should soar high, simply because Al Ain is a big team.

“New players should push themselves to the limit, given that the squad has big names and many stars. All of the players should spare no efforts to meet the expectations.”

Hilal added: “When we talk about the Al Ain Club, we are talking about one of the most prominent teams who honorably perform in the FIFA Club World Cup- UAE 2018. Indeed, all indicators confirmed that Al Ain would only be part of the competition for the sake only of participating in this international gathering. Then, it turned that the team was able to compete and beat the champs of all continents and be crowned with local and continental titles.”

Positive Atmosphere

As to whether he feels that he has reached the required degree of harmony with his teammates, he said: “I stated earlier that the spirit of the one family motivates each player to do his best and helps adapt swiftly with the squad stars. Everyone here works as per an exceptional policy of cooperation to create a positive atmosphere. I never felt that I am a new player on the team, and I believe I have reached the required stage of harmony with the team. My aspirations will never soar below the skies.”

As for the closest players to Mohamed Hilal in the team, he said: “Everyone here is close to each other. If you ask me about the closest to me, I will list all my teammates in the training camp. However, if you mean my roommate, then I am sharing the room currently with my colleague Jamal Marouf.”

One Goal

In response to a question about the UAE National Team’s chances of achieving the desired aspirations, he said: “I believe that our national team can qualify to the World Cup and win the Asian Cup, given the stars and big names of the team. However, we need to furnish the grounds of success for the team by consolidating the concept of integrated roles. It is a collective responsibility and limited to the players in the pitch. Each one has an important role to perform in support of the ambitions of the “Whites” starting from the Board of Directors of the UAEFA, loyal fans, and the media, simply because the goal is one and we have to trust the players to achieve the desired results.”

Double-Edged Weapon

On social media platforms, he said: “I prefer to maintain my privacy when using social media applications. I do not consider myself active in the right manner as I find them as a double-edged weapon, but each person determines the way he uses them. At any rate, it connects all and for me a private Snapchat account and uses my Instagram account to upload pictures of training sessions, matches, and communication with the fans.

When asked about beautiful and humble voice when he recites the verses of the Holy Qur’an, he said: “First of all I thank Allah Almighty for such grace and blessing. Since my childhood, my mother was so keen to send me to the nearby Holy Qur’an Memorization Center where I learned the basics of reciting the verses and I like to listen to the recitation of several readers, most notably Abdul Aziz Al Zahrani, Saeed Al Khatib and Hazza Al Bloushi.”

There is a Difference

Commenting on launching of Al Ain TV Channel, he said: “First of all, I would like to congratulate everyone on the occasion of launching the Al Ain Media Company which has a comprehensive media system including a TV channel and a training center for talented media experts.”

“It is a milestone in the history of the Club as Al Ain is the only Club that has a media channel. The channel is meant to provide a new vision and distinct content in its coverage of all activities related to the city. It will highlight the various activities are taking place in Al Ain, including the tourist, economic, commercial, cultural and sports aspects, as well as to cover all activities of the Club and the team.”

He added: “Al Ain is a big name and has a great reputation, especially after the strong appearance of the team in the FIFA Club World Cup- UAE 2018. This significant achievement necessitates having a comprehensive media system that provides unique and diverse services to all those interested in the news of the Boss and shed more spotlight on Al Ain City and our beloved homeland.”
