Al Ain’s “international” Japanese player Tsukasa Shiotani expressed his deep pleasure with his teammates’ performance and on top Mohammed Khalfan and Jamal Marouf along with the stellar midfielder Hamed Doumbia who adapted to the team’s style of playing in a very short time and was able to be the expected added value to the team’s efforts. “All the players were stars in that match and overcame all the challenges including the absence of key and influential players, including Marcus Berg, Mohammed Abdul Rahman and Caio Lucas. The Japanese warrior stated: “Al Ain played a great match against Esteghlal and our target was crystal-clear, i.e. to snatch the match’s three points and compensate losing the first match. However, we were able to get one point and this gives us the chance to compete to win one of the two qualifying cards to the following stage of ACL 2019.”
Responding to a question on his feeling for scoring his personal third goal against Esteghlal and be the top scorer of the two teams’ matches side by side with the Esteghlal player, Tiam, he said: “It is a fact that I would not be able to score any goal without the help of my teammates, the head coaches’ instructions and the continuous support of Al Ain’s loyal fans.
