“We have done well and won our return match against Algeria’s ES Sétif by 1-0, but this result has not served us to qualify to the last 16-team stage. However, I am so happy with the Ainawis’ performance during the 90 minutes of the match,” said Zoran Mamic in the post-press conference held by the end of the second leg match of round 32 of the Arab Club Champions Cup between Al Ain and Algeria’s ES Sétif.

He added: “Our preseason training program goes well and as planned. We still have three weeks to go prior the first official local clash match, that is the Arabian Gulf Super Cup.”

Zoran Mamic expressed his satisfaction with the level of players during the two matches they played against Algeria’s ES Sétif which he believes reassuring and convincing.

“In addition to the satisfactory performance and the excellent shape of the team as a whole one squad, I am happy that we do not have any injured players,” said Zoran. He underscored the fact that 90% of the players played full time match despite the short period of preparations which he looks at as an excellent indicator of players’ readiness for the coming new season. He pointed out: “We are doing well in the training sessions and, definitely, we will redouble our efforts in the remaining period of the training camp to arrive at an excellent stage of readiness.”

Zoran indicated that he wished he could have all international players onboard to ensure that the whole squad is fully ready for the coming challenge, that is the “Super Cup” top match scheduled to be held in the Republic of Egypt on 25th August 2018, given that they are scheduled to join the team only few days before that important match.
