In an exclusive statement to Al Ain Official Website, Abdullah Ali, Al Ain First Football Team Supervisor, put an end to all queries regarding the future of Angola’s Welson Edwardo with Al Ain by confirming that his contract is terminated.

“He is no more Ainawi! It is the norm here to honor and show respect to all who serve and defend the Al Ain badge. It gives me great pleasure to thank Edwardo for all he did for the Club and wish him all the best in his future career,” Abdullah said.

Al Ain Team Supervisor stated that Ukraine’s Serhiy Rebrov had been informed about all the details of the players’ performance during the past season before he assumed his official duties.

He hailed the new head coach’s quality of being accurate and organized, and “he has a wonderful personality that enhances his relationship with the players. During the past two days, he held important meetings with a number of the team’s players before and after the training sessions. During these meetings, he discussed all matters related to technical processes and organizational affairs related to the nature of his work during the next stage.”

As for the Emirati international players, Abdullah Ali explained that the Ukrainian head coach granted Bandar Al Ahbabi and Caio Canedo a short break to catch their breath before joining their teammates within the coming days.

Serhiy Rebrov also decided that the UAE Olympic Team players Khalid Al Bloushi, Mohammed Abbas, and Nasser Al Shukaili join their teammates in Spain once they conclude their camp in Serbia on 16th July 2021.

Abdullah Ali confirmed that the team’s players who joined the military training course with the National Service troops would be back by the end of the away pre-season training camp.

In response to a question about appointing as the new team’s supervisor, he said: “First of all, I would like to express my deep appreciation to the Board of Directors of the Al Ain Football Club Company chaired by H.E. Matar Al Darmaki, for the highly appreciated trust. I consider it a great assignment and responsibility. Indeed, I provoke to God to help all the team members and me. We all are the sons of the Club and ready to serve our Club from any location. Moreover, we all trust the players who are always up to all challenges to defend the logo of the Club and make their fans happy.”

“We are adopting the policy of honesty and transparency by keeping them informed about all the facts as we do believe they are entitled to know the most accurate details and news about the Club and players as well,” he said.

Responding to a question on the negotiations dossier, particularly stars’ names are associated with the Boss, he said: “I would like to salute the Committee tasked to handle this dossier. Actually, Al Ain is not like any other football clubs considering the large grassroots standing behind the team. We all consider ourselves an integral part of the fans, and those whose service with the Club comes to an end, we find them cheering up the squad from the stands. This peculiarity cannot be found anywhere but in Al Ain Club.”

“However, the negotiation dossier is always full of details that sometimes should not be tackled publicly. This may lead to negative impacts on the talks with the target players. Indeed, speculations sometimes turn to be right. We can only talk about it at the right time,” he explained.

Regarding the team’s goals in the new season, especially since the Ain’s fans are only satisfied with being on coronation podiums every season, he said: “We are determined to restore Al Ain’s normal position, and we are well aware that this matter is not important only for the fans, but the return of Al Ain enhances the status of the UAE football, with all due respect to other clubs to avoid wrong interpretation.”

He went on to say: “We are well aware of what we are meant to do in the next stage. It is not limited to one side without the other because we are in Al Ain one family, and the secret that distinguishes this entity lies in working in the spirit of the family and one team. This starts with the fans whom we consider the most important reasons for the Boss’ strength. We must work on one hand and show mutual trust in the players and the coaching and administrative staff because we all share one goal. We provoke to God to lead us to the right path.”

Abdullah Ali availed the opportunity to extend his sincerest gratitude to Mohammed Fayez and Shiotani, who have recently left the squad following their contracts. He wished them all the best in their future career.

On the status of the resident players and disagreement on their level of performance, and the added value of their presence with the team, he said: “The resident players who are currently playing for the Boss are subject to evaluation during the next stage.”

He concluded by emphasizing that the coach Serhiy would submit a technical report following the end of the Spain pre-season training camp.
