Dr. Jurica: Medical Checkups are Extremely Important Prior to Kick Off the Home Training Camp

Marking the kickoff of the first phase of the team’s preparation for the new season, Al Ain Club has officially announced that the team stars are all set to conduct the comprehensive medical examinations scheduled to be held at the Barjeel Hospital during 5-13 July 2020. The tests would be done under Al Ain Club Medical Committee’s supervision chaired by Talal Al Khazraji and followed up by Dr. Jurica Rakic, the First Football Team’s doctor.

Ahmad Al Shamesi, Manager of Al Ain Team, availed the opportunity to extend his sincerest gratitude to the Board of Directors of Al Ain Football Club Company to furnish the best conditions to complete the medical examinations program. He also hailed the Medical Committee’s critical role through their direct coordination with the team’s medical staff and adopting the highest international standards of the health and preventive measures to ensure the team’s health and safety.

“I would also to thank Barjeel Hospital Management for their world-class medical services and prestigious and professional treatment during the Boss players pre and post-tests,” Al Shamsi said.

Al Shamesi commended the team’s players’ commitment and dedication who are available in UAE to complete the medical examinations per the schedule assigned for each and every player. “This contributed to complete all the tests shortly for the specified names. The team’s members are scheduled to conduct COVID-19 on 13 July 2020 prior kicking off the training sessions. This preventive test would be scheduled to be conducted weekly.”

Al Shamesi stressed that Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium would be ready to receive the first football team’s training sessions as of 15th July per the approved health protocol.

Al Ain First Football Team doctor, Dr. Jurica Rakic, emphasized: “The medical checkups are crucial before kicking off the season, considering the suspension period. They are conducted to ensure the efficiency of the body functions in general and cardiovascular in particular.”

“In Al Ain Club, these tests are not limited to those listed in the regulations of lineup registration, but there are additional tests approved by the Medical Committee of Al Ain Club. These tests cover precise details that dictate conducting specific medical tests matches each player’s position, given the new conditions imposed by the breakthrough of COVID-19 pandemic,” Dr. Jurica stated.

He added: “Definitely, the pre-medical tests are a procedure adopted by all the clubs. The current general conditions are completely different from the past. Indeed, the best preventive measures and social distancing are adopted.”

Dr. Jurica signed off by stating that all the team’s players are highly committed to attend these tests.
