Pedro Emmanuel, Al Ain Head Coach, stated that the team is experiencing special moments when playing against Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasr at home and among the Ainawi fans.

“I believe that tomorrow’s match is between two good big teams. They both would strive hard to win and earn the three points. This is why we would do our best to make our fans happy as they always should be,” Pedro commented on the importance of the match.

Pedro also highlighted that the opponent is the champ of the Saudi Arabian league in the past season and has quality players and coach. “We are playing against quality players and skillful head coach who I know personally. Indeed, our mission would not be so easy, but for sure we are fully ready for the challenge.”

Commenting on the team’s loss of round 1 match, he said: “I believe that Group D is the “Death Group”. The only two options you have either to be at the top or the last spot. It was a hard lesson in round 1 match of the groups stage. All teams play with high quality and I believe that even playing with 90% of high performance is not enough to achieve the desired result. If we do not do our best, this means we will have the same result of Iran’s Sepahan match.”

As for his previous experience in the Saudi Arabi’s league would be an advantage for him, he said that he does not believe that would make it easy for the team. “However, the small details would be a crucial element in winning the upcoming match. Our opponent in the last match got the chance to take the lead and won the man match. I know Al Nasr very well and know the potentials of the players. Yet, our sights are highly set to win the three points of the match with all due respect to the aspirations of the opponent.”

In response to a question on winning Al Nasr while he was a coach in the Saudi Arabian league, he stated that it was in the past. “We are experiencing a tough moments as we are to play a match every four days.”

“Tomorrow, I will play with the best starting lineup despite some injured players and show our high respect to the opponent. We are all well aware that the team who is highly focused will b so close to win.”

He signed off by stating: “following our loss of the round 1 match, we will fight to have make our fans happy and draw a big smile on their faces.”
