“With Al Ain… the sky has no limit!”

Nicknamed “Bamboo”, Mohamed Ahmed joined Al Ain FC in the 2012-13 season only to prove later that he was the club’s beating heart! His high potential was obvious to five coaches; among them was Mahdi Ali, our national team’s coach.

During the difficult games Al Ain played in the Arabian Gulf League, Mohamed met everyone’s expectations and exhibited exceptionally excellent performance, which helped “The Boss” achieve great results in several games.

The first “international” goal scored by Al Ain’s Defender, Mohamed, was the one he scored during the quarterfinal 20 of the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, achieving a draw for the UAE against Venezuela.

The reason behind nicknaming him “Bamboo”, Mohamed said: “As a child, I loved a cartoon series with the same name, and because I preferred watching the series to playing football with them sometimes, my friends decided to nickname me Bamboo.”

Mohamed’s international football career was jam-packed with strong and distinctive participations. He is considered one of the best choices of our national team’s coach because he is proficient at the defense roles assigned to him during international games. He had a remarkable presence with our national team in the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Egypt, the U-23 Gulf Cup of Nations in Doha in 2010 and 2011, the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, the 2012 London Olympic Games and the 21st Gulf Cup of Nations in Manama in 2013… and he continues to shine in international competitions.

With Al Ain FC, Muhamed won with his team the Arabian Gulf League Championship “twice”, the Super Cup “twice”, the President’s Cup “once” and the Emirati-Moroccan Super Cup “once”.
