Friendly Matches Are Part of the Team’s Training Sessions in Austria Training Camp

Similar to friendly matches, the coaching team under the command of Sergiy Rebrov divided the Boss squad into two teams, the white and purple, and played a 3-round game where each half was 30 minutes. Furthermore, the game was run by Austrian match officials to give a sense of realism to the training.

The match was challenging and ended in a 3-3 draw. The Purple Team scored through Caio Canedo at 8 and 64 and Laba Kodjo at 39. Meanwhile, the White Team scored through Falah Waleed “18”, Jonatas de Santos “56” and Omar Saeed at 61.

The match was attended by the head coach of the UAE National Football Team, Rodolfo Arruabarrena, who is visiting the UAE clubs’ away camps in Austria.

Commenting on today’s match, Abdullah Ali, Team Supervisor, stated that the Al Ain Team always seeks to underline the importance of training sessions and that friendly matches are part of the team’s training program.

As for the friendly match, he said: “The head coach preferred to cancel Sunday’s friendly match and to divide the squad into two competing teams, the white and purple teams. Nevertheless, the game was played fervently and with high enthusiasm.

Abdullah added: “The amendments to the friendly confrontations also included that the Al Ain squad will play two friendly matches on Wednesday 17th August 2022. The first match will be against Rapid Vienna of the first division of the Austrian league at 11:00 am “Vienna time” (01:00 pm Abu Dhabi local time). The second match will be against Raka Bratislava Team of the second division of the Slovakian league at 05:00 pm “Vienna” time (07:00 Abu Dhabi local time).”

He stated that the team would perform six training sessions in Austria before returning to UAE to resume the pre-season training program.

Abdullah Ali signed off by confirming that the Boss squad will play three friendly matches ahead of the new season’s kick-off.
