The winner of the Match of the Man of round 6 match of ACL-2020 and Al Ain star defender, Ismael Ahmad, stated that although we did not have chances to qualify, we played in defense of the Boss’ badge.

“We showed our strong desire to win, and we did it although it was not an easy match against a tough team in ACL-2020,” Ismael Ahmad said in the post-match press conference of round 6 match against Saudi Arabia Al Nasr.

Commenting on a question on how he could maintain such a high level of performance despite his age, he pointed out: “I believe that any player who shows a genuine desire to go on with his career along with exerting sincere efforts and hard work all the time would be able to achieve his aspirations. In football, you have to go on as long as you are convinced you could play. You must learn and take advantage of other players’ experiences. I gained vast experience in football, considering that several coaches trained me.”

He stressed that defending the Boss’s crest is a great honor and is an essential challenge for him in the upcoming new season.

He went on to say: “I have to prove to everyone that age is not an obstacle. All that you have to do is to redouble your efforts to help my teammates and give the required confidence and take advantage of my experience.”

He indicated that as long as he is part of the team’s lineup, he would be at the head coach’s disposal and help his teammates. He stated: “Even if I do not play, I do not mind. The most important thing for me is to be honest, and be true to yourself.”

Ismael Ahmad concluded his statement by expressing his sincerest appreciation to the head coach for granting the young players the chance to play in such an important championship. “I would also thank my teammate, who vowed to play a good game. We challenged ourselves in our last match, and we had the desire to win its three points.”
