The Loyal “Ainawi” Fan Suffering from Paraplegia, Yet Won Local, Continental, and International Sports Championships

Mohammed Hashim: Al Ain Embodies the Concept of the Comprehensive Sports Club that We Are Proud of Their Achievements and Badge

The Togolese “international”, Laba Kodjo, striker of Al Ain Club, addressed a sincere invitation to the champion Mohammed Hashil Al Habsi to attend matchweek 12 of ADNOC Pro League between the “Boss” and the “Emperor”. The match is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 24th December 2024, at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

Laba’sLaba’s initiative to invite the champ Al Habsi came after he watched a report published by the Club’sClub’s official account about the achievements of the “Ainawi” fan locally, continually, and internationally under the umbrella of the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination. Laba was excited to read about the hero’shero’s story full of determination, facing the circumstances, and with the support of his great and dedicated family, who furnished all the grounds to overcome all challenges.

Mohammed Al Habsi expressed, in press statements, his high appreciation for Al Ain Club, the comprehensive sports club whose giving was never limited to sports aspects only, explaining: “It is not a secret to tell you that the invitation I received from the striker Laba Kodjo made me and all my family members very happy.”

He confirmed that he is definitely coming to HBZS to support the “Boss” squad in their clash match against Al Wasl.

He announced that he is a fan of the Al Ain Team, who has always been a source of pride, like all the citizens of the Gardens City, of its achievements and championships at all levels.

Regarding the injury he suffered, he said: “I joined the Armed Forces in 2002, and I used to practice my sports life normally and ideally. I was practicing running, football and volleyball. In 2009, I had a motorcycle accident in Al Ain City and was diagnosed with paraplegia.”

Al Habsi thanked God for the support he received from everyone who stood next to him. He pointed out that because of the continuous assistance and support, I could overcome the difficult circumstances and quickly adapt to the disability.

He also indicated: “Since I joined the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, I set off my sports career and am currently practicing my life normally, thanks to the Almighty God and the generous support of our wise leadership of the Zayed Higher Organization and the qualified national cadres in this pioneering institution that is dedicated to support and rehabilitate people of determination.”

Commenting on a question about the most critical success factors that enabled him to achieve his local, continental, and international achievements, he said: “In our beloved homeland, all the grounds for success are present, and thanks should go to the sublime care and generous support from our wise leadership. The Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination represents such dedicated and unlimited support, which supports us with high professionalism and expertise. Not to forget also the role of my parents, family, and friends in standing by me, especially in the first stage after my accident.”

As for his achievements and the early days of his sports career as a person of determination, he said: “I started with athletics and achieved, thanks to God, my first title in the IWAS Championship held in Sharjah in the Discus Throw competition. Then, I played fencing with foil and achieved a continental title in South Korea, and I won the bronze medal in 2015.”

He added: “Then, I started to focus on the sport of “Shotgun”. I started my career in this sport to achieve an international achievement. In 2021, I was placed third in the World Shooting Championship held in Italy at the individual level and placed first at the team level.”
