Mohammed Ahmad: We Have to Be Highly Focused to Win Al Wasl and Qualify

Al Ain Team defender, Mohammed Ahmad, stated that his team’s loss against Saudi Arabia’s of the AFC Champions League could be compensated. “However, the situation is quite different when we play against Al Wasl on Saturday as there is no space for compensation.”

He added: “Such a situation pushes us to be highly focused and work hard to do our best. In all cups matches, teams with high focus win, and I hope that we will be lucky enough to win and qualify to the next stage.”

Replying to a question on his significant performance in his team’s against Al Nasr despite his long absence due to injury, he said: “I was not the star of the team in that match, but this is collective work and support of my teammates who pushed me to my best. In turn, I pushed myself to the limit to help the team.”

He underlined that to return to the team following the surgery he underwent, and the recovery period require him to redouble his efforts to be back to normal.

Mohammed Ahmad expressed his appreciation for the head coach for his trust in his potentials. “I was ready, and the coach gave me a chance in the time he deemed appropriate. Indeed, not to forget my experience in such competitions helped me a lot to perform well in that match.”
