We Missed Bandar Al Ahbabi and Caio in This Match Due to High Fever and Sore Ligament

It is Still Too Early to Talk About Competing to Win the Title

The Ukrainian head coach of Al Ain Sergiy Rebrov granted the Boss squad a 24-hour break by the end of their match against Bani Yas and winning the home team by 1-0. The match was held at the Bani Yas Club Stadium on Saturday 11th September 2021.

Following the third victory of the team in a row, Abdullah Ali, Supervisor of the Al Ain First Football Team, praised the performance of the “Boss” players against the “Blues”. He also commended the fans’ substantial support.

“Their presences and support gave a boost to the players to back home with heads high from Bani Yas with a third victory in arrow in the current ADNOC Pro League,” Abdullah Ali said.

In response to a question about the secret behind restoring the Boss to its normal state and competing strongly for the league title, he said: “I believe that talking about competing to win the league title after the third round of the competition is still early. As for the first part of the question, I agree that the squad has regained something of its brilliance and well-known level. Indeed, there are several reasons behind such an improvement mainly is the great work done by the Board of Directors of Al Ain Football Club, and the Technical Committee who did their best to identify the needs of the team and meet them. They all spared no effort to support the team to exhibit their strong charisma on the pitch as we have seen tonight. Despite the absence of key players, the players fight hard and won the home team.”

He added: “The players on the bench were a good replacement of the key stars of the team. The team looking to restore its normal position is required to have fully ready substitutes any time. This means that the squad will not be affected by any absences and definitely could achieve its goals and make the fans happy by the great results they achieve.”

As for missing Bandar and Caio this time and not playing the matchweek 3 against Bani Yas, he said: “Since their return from the national team camp, they have not participated in the team’s training sessions. Bandar Al Ahbabi suffers from a high fever and Caio is also suffering from inflammation in the ankle ligaments.”

He stated that the coach preferred to give them both a break on the hope they will be in form and be ready to rejoin the team in the next match against Ittihad Kalba scheduled to be held at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.”
