Portuguese head coach of Al Ain FC, Pedro Emmanuel, congratulated his players for the excellent performance they showed in the past three matches of the groups stage of ACL-2020 withing a very tight schedule following a long period of suspension extended for seven months.

He added: “Al Ain performed well in tonight’s match. We were well aware that the opponent’s level of physical fitness is at its best, and this is why we set-up an ideal plan to paly as required since the kickoff whistle until the last minute.”

The head coach of the Al Ain Team expressed his dissatisfaction with the match’s result as the team missed the three points.

He also said: “I wish the AFC used the VAR system in a big competition in the value of the AFC Champions League. However, it is over now, and the history will record that we did not win any match of the group stage.”

“We tried our best to win and snatch the three points. We also made sure to keep our sheet clean while creating chances to score goals,” Pedro said.

Commenting on a question regarding giving the young players the chance to play in tonight’s game, he said: “We were keen to enhance the backline despite missing certain players due to injuries and suspension, including Mohammed Shaker, who was replaced by Ali Al Blooshi. I trust the player; otherwise, I would not add his name to the starting lineup f tonight’s match. I am happy with his performance, and the player emphasized that he is ready to defend the Boss’ crest when we asked him to be ready.”

He concluded his statement by saying that the team has the quality and talented young players in its lineup.
