This Season Will Be Difficult.. Rebrov: We Must Analyze the Squad’s Performance and Correct Mistakes
Sergiy Rebrov commented on his team’s loss to Al Jazira 2-1 saying that Al Ain squad’s mission against Al Jazira was not easy despite creating several chances to score but they were not exploited in the right way.
“Following the red card, the team’s performance was negatively impacted, but we still in the third round of the league and we must review the team’s performance to get back to the right track,” he said in the post-match media conference dedicated for matchweek 3 of ADNOC Pro League.
Responding to a question on the grounds behind the supremacy of Al Jazira in midfield, he said: “For sure we analyzed Al Jazira’s performance who relies heavily on ball acquisition and closing spaces in the midfield. However, and as I stated earlier, we created several critical chances to score and sought to dominate the match but failed to take advantage of the chances we had. Indeed, in football if you do not score, you will definitely concede goals.”
Rebrov pointed out that the league is still in its early stages and “we are still only in the third round and it is still long way to go. Our performance in the first round against Ajman was better than today’s although we were held to draw at that match.”
Al Ain head coach concluded his statement by assuring the players and fans that the current season will be a tough one and “we are to analyze our performance and correct the mistakes committed.”
