Our clash match against Ittihad Kalba comes in critical moments of the season. We are well aware that our mission will not be easy. We will be playing away match against a tough opponent who in deep need for points,” Pedro Emmanuel, the head coach of Al Ain, stated in his opening remarks in the pre-match press conference held today at Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium.

He added: “Meanwhile, the three points of this match will push us to the second spot in the AGL standing table. I believe that this is another challenge, but we will push ourselves to the limit to return home with three points in hand. We will play better exactly as we did against Al Sharjah in the last round.”

On the plan he had already set to make the squad’s players regain their confidence in themselves following the substantial loss they experienced in their match against Iran’s Sepahan, he pointed out: “We have to be realistic! Sometimes we are facing negative situations, and we have to turn them into positive lessons learned to improve our performance. I am confident that our performance against Kalba will be absolutely better.”

The head coach stressed that losing at home and among the Ainawi fans by 0-4 would definitely hurt the team.

“We have to be realistic. Yesterday, we did not play well and gave the opponent the chance to play comfortably due to our poor performance. We conceded the first goal in the first half, and when we tried to return to the match in the second half, we conceded the second, then the third goal.”
