Said he was motivated by Al Hajeri

Dyanfres Douglas, Al Ain’s Brazilian striker, disclosed that he had held an important meeting with H.E Ghanem Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of Al Ain FC Company, before the game against the Emirates Club. During this meeting, Douglas told Al Hajeri that he was so sad for not scoring before the start of the season. “The Chairman confirmed to me that everybody was unhappy for my sadness because Al Ain Club is like a family comprising the management, technical staff, players and fans; and all of them will support me in order to achieve the best results with my teammates because they trust my capabilities”, Douglas said.

“I had remarkable support from the coach and administrative staff led by HE Mohamed  Obeid ‘Hammad’, member of the board and first team supervisor, and my teammates led by the exceptional captain Omar Abdurrahman. This gave me a great self-confidence and motivation to overcome the problem of not scoring. I wish to go on in a way that would contribute to achieving the club’s objectives and continuing excellent results”, he added.

He went on to say: “Again I say that the team’s win is always more important than whether I score or not, but I will always fight to show my best performance in all coming games. I would like to thank everybody for their strong support which helped me return to my usual performance and score in an important timing before the crucial game against El Jaish in the AFC Champions League semifinals.”

Asked about the Group Stage games against El Jaish of Qatar in which he was very unlucky, he said: “Today’s game is completely different and we are now in a crucial stage. I also think that our double loss to El Jaish in the Group Stage was a real turning point for our team in the Asian championship. After that, Al Ain went on confidently with no more losses and developed from one game to another. We know very well that we are just a step away from the final and we are required to maintain patience, concentration and balanced performance in order to achieve our main goal.”

Douglas went on to say: “We are determined not to fall back and we agreed to double efforts and fight to achieve our own goals and gladden our loyal fans. Personally, I am resolved to take advantage of the efforts of my teammates and score on El Jaish from every chance I get. I still remember the many chances we missed in our game against them in the Group Stage. I think if we had scored from half of them, we would have finished the mission successfully on HBZ Stadium before playing the second-leg game in Doha. Therefore, I have a great desire to score on El Jaish.”
