Al Ain Loses to Bani Yas in Friendly Match

In preparation for the new season 2019/2020, Al Ain lost their home friendly match against Bani Yas by 3-1. The game was held at Khalifa bin Zayed on Thursday 29th August 2019.

The first half ended by 3-1 I favor of the guests. Jamal Marouf scored for the team at 21st minute of the match, while Bani Yas scored through Suhail Al Noubi “37”, Spain’s Pedro Conde “41” and Ayanda Patosi “45”.

Cautious Start

The game got off to a cautious start with all maneuvers were limited to the center of the field. The first real threat came in the 15th when Al Ain’s newly-arrived Serb’s Andreja sent a powerful shot straight from the box edge, but Bani Yas goalkeeper skillfully saved his den and turned the ball into a corner kick.

Al Ain right back, Ali Al Hayazani, was so close to breaking the deadlock when he sent a deceiving cross directly to the goal, but again Bani Yas goalkeeper saved his net when he deflected the ball, and the blues defenders parried away the ball to the midfield area “17”.

Al Ain wasted another glorious chance to break the deadlock, as Algeria’s Abdul Rahman Meziane led an attacking attempt but he sent a powerful shot passing the post by a whisker to be a goal kick “18”.

At the “21st” minute of the match, Al Ain striker Jamal Marouf took advantage of his skills in dribbling and controlling the ball to send a screamer straight to the back net of the Blues despite the goalkeeper desperate attempts to palm off the ball.

Mohsen Abdullah wasted a great chance to boost his team’s lead when he received a deft left cross next to the goal line from Abdul Rahman Meziane to send it directly to the goal, but the Blues goalkeeper was in the right place and sent it off skillfully “35”.

The Blues were unbeaten in leveling up the result when Suhail Al Noubi sent a powerful smart shot from the edge of the box to the back nets of Mohammed Bu Senda at the 34th minute.

The goal boosted the Blues morale and launched an extensive strike against the home team, and Pedro Conde was about to score the second goal for his team but the ball the bar “38”.

At the 41st minute of the match, Pedro Conde was able to turn the result to be 2-1 when he sent his teammate Sultan Al Shamsi cross into the nets of Bu Senda.

In the last minute of the first half, Ayanda Patosi slotted home from the edge of the box by a crushing shot to turn the result into 3-1.

During the break time, Al Ain head coach gave the opportunity new seven players to play in the second half. He replaced Mohamed Said Bu Senda, Abdul Rahman Meziane, Mohannad Al Enezi, Ali Al Hayazani, Mohammed Abdul Rahman, Yahiya Nader and Andreja by Hamad Al Mansouri, Laba Kodjoe, Mohammed Khalfan, Abdullah Samir, Salem Abdullah, Rayan Yaslam and Mohammed Hilal.

The Blues German head coach, Winfried Schäfer, made several changes during the second half.

The second half witnessed numerous attempts to score, but the match ended 3-1.
