Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club was established in 1968 in the City of Al Ain. It has evolved to become one of the most decorated sports club in the UAE.

Football was the first activity offered by the club. However, as the club’s popularity started to gain momentum, it registered teams in volleyball, handball, basketball, athletics, swimming and other competitions. In all endeavors, the achievements of these teams upheld the club’s mission to be ranked one of the best in the world.

With the advent of professionalism in sports, the club has taken on a new challenge to expand its administrative and commercial horizons to capitalize on the commercial interest in sports.

Al Ain FC Coach Ivan Leko

Leko made his debut as a manager in 2014, with Oud-Heverlee Leuven, but he managed the club for a season. In 2015 he became an assistant manager of Greek club PAOK FC under the coaching staff of Croatian manager Igor Tudor, but Tudor was sacked in 2016. A one season, 2016–17, he managed Sint-Truidense V.V. and the next two seasons 2017-18 and 2018-19, he was the manager of Club Brugge. He celebrated Jupiler Pro League and Belgian Super Cup in his first season in Brugge. Also, Leko won the title of Professional Manager of the Year.

Track Record of 50 Years

Al Ain Sports & Cultural Club was established in 1968. Over the years, it became the most decorated club in UAE.

With the advent of professional sports, the club took on a new challenge to expand its commercial vision and help the club to maintain its role as a dominant sporting force in the UAE. Emphasizing its status as a pioneering spirit, Al Ain was the first club to employ professional football players in the UAE, the first club in the region to achieve ISO certification and the first club to receive the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award.

Al Ain has three stadiums with international standards and PLC requirements, the Khalifa Bin Zayed Stadium, theTahnoon Bin Mohammed (Al Qattara) Stadium and the iconic new 25,000 seat Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, one of Al Ain city’s most recognized landmarks.

Al Ain FC has a trophy cabinet that houses domestic, international and even continental silverware, including the Gulf Club Champions Cup and the Asian Champions League.
