Al Ain Club has been defeated by Zakho SC of Iraq with the score of 0-1, so securing the qualification ticket to the next round of competition of the GCC Champions League has been postponed

Al Ain Club has been defeated vs its guest Zakho SC of Iraq with the score of 1-0. This defeat came in the match that brought the two teams together on today’s evening on the pitch of Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, during the fourth round of competitions of Group A of the GCC Champions League football tournament 2025-2026.

Nasser Ahmed Mohammedoh Al Gahwashi, who is the Yemeni attacking midfielder for Zakho SC, scored match’s only goal on the minute of 54, allowing the Iraqi team to claim their second consecutive victory vs Al Ain Club, as they were successful in defeating Al Ain Club in the first leg match with the score if 2-0.

With this result, Zakho SC of Iraq managed to secure their qualification ticket to the next round of competition and raised their aggregate up to 10 points, while Al Ain Club’s remained on the second position with an aggregate of 6 points, so securing the qualifying ticket to the next round of competitions has been postponed to the two remaining round of Group stage competitions.

Al Ain Club’s chances to secure the qualifying ticket to the next round of competitions are limited to claiming victory in one of the two remaining matches, as well as the defeat of its competing teams in the same group, who are Sitra Club of Bahrain and Al Qadsia SC of Kuwait, so the leading team on the group A’s top position and the runner up team will be qualifying to the next round of competitions.

It has been scheduled that Al Ain Club’s expedition will be taking off to Al Manama, the capital city of Bahrain, to take on their next match vs Sitra SC of Bahrain on their stadium on the next month of February, during the fifth round of competitions of Group A, while Zakho Club of Iraq will be playing vs Al Qadsia SC of Kuwait in the same round of competitions.
