A historical goal for Al Ain Club
“The Boss” fortifies its lead on the tournament’s standings table thanks to the two goals scored by Palacios and Ben Khaleq in the net of Al Wasl Club
“The Boss” managed to fortify its lead on the standings table of ADNOC Pro League football tournament, after claiming a deserved victory over its guest Al Wasl Club with two goals without any response. This victory came in the match that brought the two teams together on the green pitch of Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, during the conclusion of the 19th round of competitions of the local tournament.
Al Ain Club’s two goals were scored by Matías Damián Palacios, who is the team’s Argentine central midfielder, in the second minutes, and Yahya Ben Khaleq, who is the Moroccan center back defender, in the 20th minute of match’s first half. With this victory Al Ain Club claimed three precious points that raised its aggregate up to 47 points on the top position of the tournament’s standings table, while the aggregate of Al Wasl Club stopped at 30 points on the fifth position on the tournament’s standings table.
Al Ain Club entered the match with a powerful performance, when Palacios opened scoring in an early timing with a smart shot from outside the penalty zone after the passage of just 61 seconds, scoring the fastest goal in ADNOC Pro League football tournament for this season, as well as the fastest goal in the history of both teams’ matches during the local tournament.
Al Wasl tried to quickly return to match’s atmospheres with a dangerous scoring attempt led by Sérgio Pereira Andrade (known as Serginho), who is the team’s Cape Verdean right winger, in the minute of 13, but the seasoned goalkeeper of Al Ain Club, Khalid Eisa, managed to steadily tackle the ball and maintain his team’s lead.
Al Ain Club continued to impose its advantage during match’s first half, fortifying its lead with the second goal in the minute of 20 thanks to the team’s center back defender, Yahia bin Khaleq, who managed to finalize an organized forward effort with a brilliant shot in the competing team’s net, so he emphasized over the dominance of “The Boss” on match’s playtime.
With the second half kicking off, Al Wasl Club continued its pressure in search for minimizing the margin, but the brilliant performance of Khalid Eisa once again prevented that outcome, while Al Ain Club maintained its balance on the defensive line of play, as well as its administration on the match up until the final whistle, so they emphasized over their return to the top position on the tournament’s standings table.
