Ivić: We are feeling satisfied with the output of Al Ain Club’s young players… While the Cup tournament is a great opportunity to evaluate their capabilities
Granting the opportunity to the young players through the Cup tournaments is a decision we made before the current season kicks off
We are working to equip all of our team players with all that is required to compete for the title of all tournaments
Vladimir Ivić, who is the Serbian head coach of Al Ain first football team, expressed his cheerfulness over the output of his team’s young players during their match vs Kalba Club, which was over with a positive 2-2 result, during the third round of competitions of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup “ADIB”, he also emphasized that the team was looking for a victory to be claimed, but the positive draw is considered an acceptable result in light of the match’s circumstances and its momentum.
During the post-match evaluative press conference, the Serbian head coach of Al Ain first football team said the following statement: “We entered the match with a sought after goal to claim victory, but due to match’s momentum and the circumstances we encountered, we can say that we are satisfied with one point. We played the match with a lineup that consists of 11 players who did not play together before, even though we saw several positive sceneries, especially from the young players who delivered a satisfactory output.”
He also explained: “From the current season’s kick off, we made a decision to take advantage of this tournament and grant the opportunity of participating to the players who did not have much time to play through the AFC Champions League and ADNOC Pro League football tournaments, with a sought after goal to check on their capabilities and evaluate their readiness through the official matches, which have a different nature and requirements than the training sessions.”
Al Ain Club’s Serbian head coach added the following statement: “I am feeling satisfied with the output of the young players, especially that some of them participated for only one time with the first team, which is an experience that is not easy in light of the huge difference between the age categories and the first team’s matches. They showed several positive aspects, and now we have a much clearer picture over the capabilities of several players and what they are capable of delivering for the team in the coming future.”
Al Ain Club’s head coach pointed out to the importance of expanding the team’s base of ready players, so he said the following statement: “We are playing through a busy season with local and continental matches, and we need a big list of players capable of delivering the required addition when needed. So, it is important to grant the real opportunities to participate, so we can evaluate their capabilities and work on their development and equipment for the upcoming matches.”
The Serbian head coach of Al Ain first football team concluded his speech with an emphasis that the numerous tournaments and matches pressure, require the utilization of all team players, he also stressed over the importance of continuing work to grant the players the required time to prove their capabilities and fortify the available options in front of the coaching staff.
