Pedro: I Gave the Chance for Young Players and Did Our Best to Score and Keep Our Sheet Clean
“We sought to score in Khorfakkan net, keeping in mind not commit any mistake. We did our best to take advantage of any chance we got to score to qualify to the next stage of this competition,” Pedro Emmanuel opened the post-match press conference dedicated to the playoff match against Khorfakkan held at Khorfakkan Stadium, which ended by a goalless draw.
He added: “We got two to three chances to score while the opponent got only one chance. In the second half, we exerted high pressure over the home team, but sending our player off the pitch with a red card made our mission more difficult. Indeed, we maintained a good organization and controlling the ball most of the minutes of the match.”
Pedro highlighted that he achieved some of the pre-set goals of this match, including finishing the game with a clean sheet and scoring goals. “The players pushed themselves to the limit and to achieve these targets. I also gave the young players a chance to show their quality skills to get the point that they need to work hard to be up to it.”
He concluded his statement by pointing out that missing eight key players out of the 11 players was not easy, and he congratulated the home team for qualifying to the next stage of the Arabian Gulf Cup.
