The absence of Leonardo Jardim form the coaching area was difficult

Jose Barros: Al Ain players performed very well in the face of Al Jazira football club

Matías Damián Palacios sustained an injury in yesterday’s training session and we are waiting for the medical reports in order to determine the rehabilitation period of time

Jose Barros, the Portuguese assistant manager of Al Ain’s first football team, said that his team’s match in the second leg round of competitions of the quarter finals vs Al Jazira football club was interesting and appealing to watch. He added: “I would like here to express my deepest pride in my team players and their performance in today’s match, I would also wish to congratulate Al Jazira football club over qualifying to the semi finals round of competitions.”

He commented on a question over playing with the absence of the team’s head coach from the coaching area, by saying:“Certainly, it is not easy to play with the absence of the team’s leader, while everyone here are well aware that he and his family are currently undergoing difficult conditions, so we wish that they overcome these situations. Al Ain players were keen to present the team’s head coach with the victory at this match, especially that we felt that he was on our side in this evening’s match with his directions and spirit, so our hearts go with him.”

Over the injury of Matías Damián Palacios and the reason behind the absence of Yahia Nader Moustafa Elsharif, he said: “Matías Damián Palacios sustained an injury during yesterday’s training session, then he underwent medical examinations as well as the magnetic resonance imaging, accordingly we are waiting for the medical reports in order to determine the rehabilitation period of time. As for Yahia Nader Moustafa Elsharif, he was not ready to be on the team’s starting lineup in today’s match because he felt slight pains after the national football team’s most recent match.”
