Among thrilling atmospheres, the international player Ahmed Al Swaidi, who is the captain of the United Arab Emirates eGames national team, managed to claim the title of the first edition of Hafeit Challenge’s eGames, which is considered the largest of its kind on the level of the country in terms of the rewards’ financial value and the vast participation.
220 players were competing in 222 matches, which started online, reaching to the final stages of competitions that took place within the board of director’s hall at Hazza Bin Zayed stadium.
The final stages were followed up by, Salem bin Haderim Al Katibi, who is the chairman of the supreme organizing committee of Hafeit Sports Challenge, in addition to Rashid Abdullah, who is the tournament’s director, members from the supreme organizing committee, department managers from Al Ain city’s municipality, as well as a large number of eGames enthusiasts.
The tournament witnessed holding matches between elite “PlayStation” players on the level of the country and the Middle East. In the semi finals round of competitions, Ahmed Al Swaidi qualified after claiming victory over the Pakistani player Mohammed Hahd, while Mouhannad Al Mismari managed to defeat Ali Al Hammadi and managed to qualify to the final round of competitions.
In a thrilling final match, Ahmed Al Swaidi decisively claimed the title after his victory over Ali Al Mismari with the score of 5-3. So, with this result he was officially crowned as the champion of the tournament’s first edition, emphasizing over his deservedness of this accomplishment.

In his speech over the event, Hassan Mohammed, who is the projects manager at Al Rayyes Contracting company, which is one of the sponsor companies, said the following statement: “Hafeit Sports Challenge started big from the first day, and this was not a mere coincidence, but this happened thanks to the vision and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who is the representative of Al Ain area’s ruler and the first supporter of sports in the region.”
He also added the following statement: “What distinguishes this challenges is that it was not just an ordinary sports tournament, but it was an inclusive social event that included 18 different sports, it also included all society’s categories, children, women, high ranking citizens, and the people of determination. So, this is an unprecedented accomplishment on the region’s level.”
He also pointed out that the success of this event was clearly apparent since the first day, where it was the top “trend” in the United Arab Emirates, as well as breaking records, such as holding 94 matches in one day, and this is a number that maybe registered on Guinness World Records.
