Vladimir Ivić, who is the Serbian head coach of Al Ain first football team, emphasized that everyone who are affiliated within the team’s ecosystem are not satisfied with the results that have been claimed so far, pointing out that Al Ain played three matches, none of which were up to everyone’s expectations, especially the most recently played match.
During the introductory press conference for his team’s match vs Shabab Al Ahli football team, Ivić said the following statement:“There are no excuses over the results of the past match we played, because the result should have been 6 or 7 goals against only two goals for the competing team, when compared to the match’s overall playtime, especially after the referee’s decision to give one of our players a red card. But, if we looked back to what we have done through the match’s lifespan and the scoring chances we made before the competing team’s net, we can find out that there are positive aspects which we can build upon.”
He also added the following statement: “We were missing some important details, which had its great impact over us. We also know how big the required work is, and we are well aware that we need to improve many things, so we can show up with the most powerful performance and become more competitive.”
Ivić pointed out that the coaching staff has determined two primary goals to seek through the upcoming period of time, so he said the following statement:
“First of all, we need to fix some issues that appeared through the previous matches that we played. Secondly, we have to physically and mentally prepare our team’s players so we can take on our team’s upcoming matches.”
He stressed that the team is preparing intensively on a daily basis, so he added the following statement: “We do have some distinctive players, we also possess the desire and determination to return to the correct path, because we are the most popular and the most accomplished football team within the United Arab Emirates, while our sought after goal is to finish the current sporting season with a better position on standings table of ADNOC Pro League, a better position that enables us to represent the United Arab Emirates through the next season of AFC Champions League.”
Over his team’s match vs Shabab Al Ahli football team, he said the following statement:“We are well aware of the great importance of this upcoming match as well as its value in the eyes of the team’s fans, so we will be working up to our utmost efforts to claim the best possible result.”
Regarding the possible changes in order to overcome the individual mistakes, he explained through the following statement:“Change is something natural in the realm of football. So, we keep working to improve our performance, in addition to claiming the positive results through the remaining seven rounds of competitions, we are also well aware of the collective responsibility that is upon our shoulders.”
The new head coach for Al Ain first football team went on by adding the following statement: “We talk to our players on a daily basis, we also review with them everything that is good for them, in addition to what needs to be improved. But, when some mistakes are frequently committed, it becomes our duty to intervene and to make decisions that include granting the opportunity to the team’s new players to join our team’s ranks on the pitch.”
He also added the following statement: “I will not be blaming our players, because they are giving their utmost performance through the training sessions, but good results can only come from continuous hard work on a daily basis.”
Over the long awaited Classico match, Ivić said the following statement: “The match is very important for the fans of Al Ain. As for us, we are undergoing an exceptional period of time. After sustaining defeat through our most recent match, I expressed my feelings of dissatisfaction, because no one was expecting this result. We have seven remaining matches to play through the local ADNOC Pro League, so we will be playing with only one sought after goal, which is: Playing to claim victory, no more no less.”
He went on by adding the following statement: “We do respect all of our competing teams, but first of all we do respect the logo we carry on our uniform, so we will be working hard and doing our best to satisfy our loyal fans.”

Al Ain’s head coach talked about the last two defeats through the team’s two matches vs Dibba Al Hisn football team and Al Wahda football team, so he said the following statement: “The truth is that I was totally frustrated due to the recurrence of the same mistakes. I have been watching the match more than once, so I found out that we deserved to be in the lead with three goals in the first 30 minutes of the match’s life span.Although we were in a disadvantage in terms of the players’ number, but we managed to return with the match’s result to become 2-2, we were also close to claiming victory, but due to the competing team’s counter attacks we took the third goal in our net.”
He emphasized through the following statement that: “The team did not revert to play with a defensive formation in order to score the equalizer, but we played to claim victory up until the end. Our players were fighting, and this is what they had been showing up too in their match vs Al Wahda football team when we played with a disadvantage in terms of the players’ number for seventy minutes, then we took the goal that cost us the match in the minute of 95.”
As for the refereeing decisions, Ivić said the following statement: “When we played vs Al Wasl, we managed to score an apparent true goal in the minute of 90, but that goal was disallowed, even though the replay showed that it was a valid goal. I am not seeking to give excuses, but there are matters that need to be improved.”
He concluded his speech by saying the following statement: “We are well aware of what our fans feel, and we do appreciate those feelings. So, it is our duty to be up to the responsibility and to grant them what they deserve of joy and confidence.”
