On today’s evening, at Manarat Al Saadiyat of Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates, the official draw ceremony for the most prestigious of all tournaments , His Highness the United Arab Emirates President’s “may Allah protect him” Cup, took place. The draw placed Al Ain Club in the round of 16 and to play against the first team to qualify from the preliminary stage of competitions, marking the inauguration of “The Boss” journey through this tournament starting from the round of 16.
The official draw ceremony witnessed the attendance of a number of clubs representatives and representatives from the local and international media outlets. In his media remarks on the sidelines of the official draw ceremony, Mendes said the following statement: “The UAE President’s Cup represents the shortest route into officially qualifying to the AFC champions League football tournament in the next season. It is also the sought after goal on which we are working this season, to restore the name of Al Ain Club to the continental theater. This tournament has always been a distinguished experience for me as a players. Now, my role as the sporting director is to be the strong supporter for the team, we also believe in our capabilities to compete in all tournaments:ADNOC Pro League, UAE President’s Cup and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup (ADIB).”
The sporting director at Al Ain Club added the following statement: “We are well aware that Al Ain Club enters every tournament with an aim to claim the title. We are feeling cheerful over the start of this season and satisfied over the work of the team’s head coach and players.
