For the sixth time in the Club’s history
Al Ain Club officially qualifies to the final match of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup “ADIB”
The Ainawi Boss managed to secure its position in the final match of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup “ADIB” for the sixth time in the Club’s history. This accomplishment came despite losing to its guest Al Nasr Club, as the competing team managed to score two goals without response 2-0, when both teams played against each other in the second leg match that took place on today’s evening on the green pitch of Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium. Al Ain Club took advantage of its victory in the first leg match, in which they scored three goals without any response 3-0, so they managed to decisively secure the qualifying ticket with the final aggregate of 3-2 out of both matches.
Al Nasr Club started the match with an early forward pressure, then they managed to open scoring on the fifth minute by Bernard Mensah, who is the team’s Ghanian attacking midfielder, through a powerful shot.
Al Ain Club tried to quickly return to the match atmospheres, so one of their most prominent scoring attempts came in the 15th minute by Kodjo Fo-Doh Laba, who is the team’s international Togolese forward player, as he delivered a powerful shot that slipped by the competing team’s post. Another shot was delivered by Al Hussain Rahimi, who is the team’s Moroccan forward player, that slipped over the competing team’s post, just before halftime. So, match’s first half was concluded with Al Nasr Club in the lead over Al Ain Club with one goal without any response.
During match’s second half, Al Nasr Club scored their second goal in the minute of 65 by Ramón Nazareno Miérez, who is the team’s international Argentine forward player.
Even though Al Ain Club continued to impose its pressure in an attempt to reduce the difference in goals, and they were very close to scoring their first goal in the minute of 70, but a ball shot by Laba slipped again by the competing team’s post. During match’s final minutes, Al Nasr Club was working to secure its third goal with which they can equalize the final aggregate of both matches, but the defensive line of Al Ain Club managed to firmly tackle all scoring attempts on their net.
With the final whistle, The Boss managed to decisively secure the qualifying ticket to the tournament’s final match, taking advantage of their supremacy in the aggregate of both matches, so they managed to continue their journey through the competition race with great confidence and ambition.
