Matar Obaid Al Dhaheri, Al Ain Team Manager, underlined that Ivan Leko has decided to reward all the players of the Boss for their robust performance, commitment, discipline, seriousness and high sense of responsibility during the team’s training sessions and friendly matches of the preseason away camp.

He said: “The head coach decided to book the return flight ahead of two days of the camp schedule. This is to give them all the time to enjoy Eid Al Adha with their families and friends. The team will return to the state on Sunday 11th August 2019 and arrive early morning of Monday 12th August 2019.”

Al Sahbani expressed his pleasure by the initiative announced by the head coach, who preferred to congratulate the players on the occasion of Eid Al Adha in his own way. “This shows how he is interested in the tiny details to ensure the players enjoy the best positive atmosphere in and out the pitch through direct and constant coordination with the administrative staffs.”

“Al Ain is scheduled to conclude its friendly matches against the Hungary’s ZTE Club of the Premier League at 5 p.m. on Saturday 10th August 2019 at the club’s stadium.”

Commenting on a question on his assessment of the friendly matches the team played as part of the away training camp, he said: “I mentioned earlier, the results of the team’s friendly matches do not reflect the genuine gains that the head coach desire to achieve. They are exactly like a training session where the head coach is aiming to achieve certain technical, physical and mental aspects. Also, he aims to assess the players’ performance and how they implement his field instructions. This is the reason behind involving the majority of players participating in the away camp. He selects two starting lineups in each match during the two halves.”

He added: “In the last game, Al Ain won the Croatia’s Osijek FC by 4-0. The home team players were from the bench and the first team players. The head coach was so happy by the team’s performance and assured us that the result is not important for him, but it would be a good starting point for them and gives them the required motivation to push themselves to the limit. Indeed, Leko is a kind of enthusiastic coaches who are keen to instill a spirit of challenge in the players. At any rate, the Boss squad is required to achieve the best results in official matches.”

As for the status of the players who did not participate in several group training sessions and friendly matches, he said” “First of all, we are very happy with the results of Mohammed Fayez medical tests yesterday evening. Mohammed suffered a knee injury during the team’s match against Croatia’s Osijek FC. The MRI screen showed the injury is of no concern and he is scheduled to enroll physiotherapy program and will rejoin the squad based on the recommendations of the medical specialists.

He hailed Mohammed Fayez outstanding performance since last season and during the away preseason camp. “He is one of the most important pillars of the squad and a genuine leader in the pitch. We all wish him a speedy recovery to add more teeth to the lines of the squad in the new season.”

Al Sahbani went on to say: “In our last meeting with the head coach and the team medical doctor, it was confirmed that Mohammed Abdul Rahman and Bandar Al Ahbabi reached the required degree of fitness and rejoined the training sessions. They are scheduled to join the team in the next friendly match against Hungary’s “ZTE” FC.

As for Rayan Yaslam, Al Sahbani stated that he would resume his fitness program under the supervision of the medical staff and fitness coach. “He will participate in the friendly match scheduled to be held in Al Ain City against one of the league clubs on 16 or 17 August.”

He added that Mohammed Jamal would resume his physical program under the supervision of the team’s fitness coach and that he is waiting for the green light to join his teammates in the training session.

He stated: “Mohamed Ahmed will join the training sessions as of 15th August. Meanwhile, Salem Abdullah, who suffered an ankle injury enrolled the physiotherapy program and will join the training sessions within two and three weeks.”

He concluded his statement that everyone in the camp is working hard to achieve the highest level of readiness.
