His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan hailed the efforts exerted by the players, coaching teams, and admin staff of the Al Ain U-18 Team to be rewarded by winning the U-18 League title.
“Since its establishment, the Talents Care Committee has adopted the best practices in the major football academies in the world to develop and qualify players of the Club’s junior teams with sights set to have new generations capable of supporting the lineup of the first team and UAE national football team. This will be achieved based on a five-year plan through which we look forward to starting to reap the fruits during the next three years. Indeed, it is not limited to achieving a championship at a specific age stage or season,” Sheikh Hamdan stated.
The Chairman of the Executive Committee confirmed that His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, First Vice President of the Club and Honorary Council of Al Ainawi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, continued to pay great attention to the Club. His Highness’s directives clearly provided all the required support to all teams to prepare the Boss for the upcoming challenges and be ready for the next season with full force to compete locally and continually.
“This could be achieved by providing all needed based on the technical recommendations for improving the team. The directives of His Highness included the need to pay attention to the Al Ain football school and academy. These directives are meant to support the efforts to continue developing performance indicators in all sectors operating in the Club and its subsidiaries to achieve the highest indicators of fans’ satisfaction in various games,” He said.
Commenting on a question about losing the President’s Cup title, he said: “First, we congratulate the Sharjah team for winning the title of the President’s Cup. In Al Ain Club, we speak one language acquired from the culture of making glory, which is the language of victory and achievements. It is all about continuous work, development, fixing mistakes, and getting back on the right track when experiencing any setback.”

He added: “When big teams lose any match, it is no more than a lesson learned and an ideal opportunity for improvement and adjustment of the team’s conditions, mainly it is a chance to correct the team’s journey in its journey to win titles and championships. We must consider that Al Ain Team has the largest grassroots who always seek to win titles and championships.”
Sheikh Hamdan pointed out that the culture of apology is part of the values of Al Ain Team’s players, but it is always done practically. He stressed that more than verbal messages addressed to loyal and loving fans are required. He hailed the fans’ efforts, who are always behind the team in the stands of all stadiums, and they are recognized for making a difference throughout history.
As for the team’s chances to win more titles this season, he commented: “During the current season, Al Ain Team faced great challenges. However the team has been competing to win all tournaments, but the results in certain matches were not consistent with the Club’s aspirations and unparalleled with fans’ massive support. Nevertheless, Al Ain Team still takes its chances in the remaining matches, especially since the team’s season has not ended yet; the squad still has important matches that require great focus and strong support from the team’s fans.”
H.E. Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan touched upon the importance of building for the future, pointing out that the administration pays great attention to this aspect, scientifically and thoughtfully, especially regarding the philosophy of generational communication.
“Generation communication is the goal behind nurturing and supporting talents in the Club and paying attention to having a solid plan to achieve this objective. We aim to take advantage of the professional system and the environment of success available in Al Ain fort to provide the first team with talents capable of performing with full force and skill,” Sheikh Hamdan said.
He also pointed out: “Our goal is to build junior teams to be the future of the Club in a practical way. We are furnishing all the necessary tools, including contracting with foreign players, which for sure would contribute to boosting the power of all teams to compete locally and continuously. This requires ongoing work per a well-defined strategy, which the Club strives to achieve through all its various committees and departments.”
Commenting on a question about Al Ain’s return to participate in the AFC Champions League, he said: “As I mentioned to you, the team is currently required to focus on its remaining championships in the current season. However, the Boss squad should seriously prepare for the next season to fulfill the Club’s ambitions in all local competitions and the Asian championship. We vow to provide all the support required to the team to delight the team’s loyal fans.”
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized that Al Ain Club enjoys a legacy of over 55 years of successes and achievements, a long career in UAE football, competing in all local and continental competitions, and honoring the game’s reputation in the continental and regional football events.
