Abdullah Ali, Al Ain FC Academy Administrative Supervisor and Tournament Director, stated, “We are witnessing a new scene of excellence that reflects the honorable image linked to Hazza bin Zayed U17 International Football Tournament, which has been launched through the vision, support and sponsorship of the founder of success and development strategy, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, First Deputy Chairman of Al Ain Club, First Deputy Chairman of the Honorary Council and Al Ain Sports & Cultural Club Board Chairman”.
He added, “The Tournament Organizing Committee has offered various rewards as the ninth version winner is to receive a financial reward of AED 55,000 in addition to the Tournament Cup and golden medals. The runner-up is to receive silver medals and a financial reward of AED 35,000. It has been decided to offer valuable rewards for the ideal team, Tournament best player, best goalkeeper and scorer. The Committee has also offered ‘precious’ rewards for the players elected by the Technical Committee after each confrontation under the title of ‘match man’”.
He added, “I would like to appreciate the efforts of the Tournament committees, which include long-experienced members who gained such experience through their work in organizing the biggest events hosted by the Club within the past years, which received an outstanding praise by both the international and continental federations”.
Commenting on the question of local clubs academies age group teams non-participation in the ‘international’ Tournament, he said, “I think that all of the state clubs could organize an international tournament – such as, Al Wehda FC Club, Al Dhafra Club, Al Nasr Club, etc. – under the umbrella of sports councils. The Organizing Committee’s interest in different European and Arab African football schools is one of the main reasons for which the Tournament has been organized as the age groups, usually, enter tournaments under the umbrella of the Football Federation and play against national teams. The desired technical benefit is to meet totally different schools other than those confronted in the national tournaments”.
