The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has named Al Ain Captain Omar Abdulrahman, the reigning Asian Player of the Year, as the man of the match against Iran’s Zob Ahan.
“It was possible to achieve a better result in the match, but thanks God anyway,” the Al Ain playmaker said “we were in full control in the entire match but spurned all opportunities.”
Amoory stressed that the team needs to promote positive points and correct the negative ones in the next days before heading to Uzbekistan to face Bunyodkor FC in Tashkent.
Asked about the difference between the tournaments of 2016 and 2017, Abdulrahman said that there is no big differences, but all teams will play strongly against Al Ain, having in mind that the UAE team is the runner-up of 2016.
“Al Ain has all capabilities to achieve the best results, but some luck is needed,” Amoory commented on the spurned opportunities.
