Yarmolenko Will Return to the Team Soon, and We Miss Kouame for Accumulated Yellow Cards

“We must overcome the negative impact of losing the Super Cup match,” Sergiy Rebrov stated in the pre-match media conference of matchweek 18 of ADNOC Pro League against Dibba Al Fujairah.

He explained: “Everyone knows we played six matches in a row ahead of the Super Cup match. Meanwhile, the players know the significance of the coming match regardless of the opponent we are playing against.”

Rebrov stressed that they should focus on the team’s internal affairs, ignoring that the opponent is at the top or last spot of the standing table.

“I have full confidence that players will be in form for the coming challenge once they are done with the recovery programs,” he said.

Commenting on the players expected not to play against Dibba, he said: “Kouame will not play next match for accumulated yellow cards. Yarmolenko is injured, and we will try our best to get him back to the team, but you know that certain injuries need time, and only doctors and therapists can decide when he is ready to play.”

The head coach of Al Ain added that the Super Cup match was tough considering the weather conditions, particularly in the second half of the game. He also said that players felt fatigued after their dedicated efforts to score goals to win against the opponent. Additionally, he stressed that it is not easy to play a match every three or four days, but positively stressed that his team is playing a new game given that the team is playing at home and among the loyal fans and in another competition.

Rebrov set the road map to winning the guests by saying: “We have to play genuine football to snatch three points. It is an important match in our journey to compete to win the league title. We must also play with a fighting spirit and not underestimate the opponent and that they placed last on the standing table. I am sure they have their targets, and for sure, they want to continue playing in the professional league.”

However, Rebrov pointed out that focusing on the team’s internal issues is essential.

“Of course, we explained to the players Dibba’s playing style. Yet, we must take advantage of playing at home and among our fans and show a real desire to win the guests and snatch the match’s three important points in this stage,” he said.

He concluded his statement by addressing a message to the fans: “I am always saying that Al Ain fans never leave the Boss squad walk alone. On the contrary, they boost the players’ strength, particularly when playing at home. Therefore, the only fact that prevails is that we fight to make them happy.”
