Al Ain FC had to be content with a 2-2 draw with Dibba at Round 5 of the Arabian Gulf League Competition.

After ending 1st half with an early 1-0 lead given by Ismail Ahmad in 18th minute, Al Ain FC cushioned its lead when Douglas Dyanfres scored in 56th minute. Yet, Dibba retaliated when Ali Mohamed scored in 70th minute and Al Ain FC defender Mohannad Salem Al Enezi scored an own goal in 76th minute.

The match saw 2 red cards; the first went to Dibba’s Omar Ahmad in 57th minute and the second was shown to Al Ain FC playmaker Omar Abdurrahman in the stoppage time 90+1.

The end raised Al Ain FC tally to 10 points keeping it in the same 4th place; while Dibba moved up to 9th place with 3 points gained from 3 draws in a row.

Al Ain’s strong personality
From the very start, Al Ain FC players managed to control the proceedings of the game; they piled pressure by attacking directly from deep positions and down the flanks forcing their hosts to go the defensive and rely on counterattacks.

It took Al Ain 18 minutes to bring their preponderance to fruition when their ‘international’ defender gave his side the lead from a fantastic cross by Amouri and relayed by Lee Myung-Joo’s foot to him while he was unwatched.

As the second half started, it was clear Dibba were seeking an equalizer that would pull them back into the game; they launched many counterattacks which Al Ain did not abort only but retaliated when Douglas towered above Dibba’s defenders to receive a cross from Amouri and headed it into the right corner of Dibba’s goal in 56th minute.

Dibba’s Determination

The hosts were not discouraged; they managed to reduce the gap with Al Ain FC when Ali Mohamed unleashes a powerful rocket shot from the edge of the box scoring in 70th minute.

In 76th minute, Dibba got what they wanted when Danilo Cirino went deep into Al Ain FC box and sent a powerful shot which hit Mohannad Al Enezi’s foot and bounced inside Al Ain’s goal.

In the extra time (90+1), Omar Abdurrahman was sent off after receiving the second yellow card and soon the referee whistled the end of the game: Al Ain 2-2 Dibba.
