Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club launched a new initiative “Goodness is in our field” as part of the efforts exerted by the UAE government to spread goodness in public organizations and institutions. This comes under the “2017 Year of Goodness”, which focuses on establishing the concept of ‘giving’ as a community trend that enhances the social responsibility of all social spectra, as well as to promote the spirit of volunteerism to provide assistance for the needy.

The announcement of the new initiative comes during a press conference held by Al Ain FC at the Chairman’s hall of the HBZ stadium, in cooperation with the UAE Red Crescent. The conference was attended by Sultan Rashid, Al Ain Board member, Salim Al Ameri, director of the UAE Red Crescent – Al Ain branch, Mohanad Salim Al Enzi, Al Ain international player, as well as a group of journalists and media men.

Sultan Rashid expressed deep pride and appreciation for the “2017 Year of Goodness” initiative launched by HH Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. “On this particular occasion, allow me to echo HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Chairman of Al Ain Club and Honorary Council: the Year of Goodness is a lofty embodiment of a generous and humane legacy for the humankind, founded by Sheikh Zayed (the Father) and endorsed by Sheikh Khalifa (the Leader), in the finest expression that represents our reality on this blessed land.”

“Here in Al Ain FC, we’ll stretch out our hands for you, hear your needs, we’ll humbly give, and you’ll proudly receive. Solidarity has been and will always be inherit in our society, and an approach adopted by our leaders and a distinctive trait of the great Emirati people,” Rashid said.

“Today, we’re honored to enhance the cooperation with the UAE Red Crescent, which is the perfect example of adopting the best practices in terms of setting up charity platforms and extending a helping hand for all the needy inside and outside the state through providing aid and god deeds,” he added.

The timing of the initiative comes in conjunction with the return of Al Ain first team to the AFC competition, which signifies an important goal for the Club in each season for being closely linked to the state’s representation in Asia’s most prestigious tournaments.
“We’re keen on asserting the Club’s mission in upholding the human values, sporting principles and everything related to good deeds in this year in particular. All Al Ain members; staff, players or fans, be it men, women or children, have the opportunity to take part in “”Goodness is in our field” initiative,” he went on.

Rashid pointed out that the goodness, now abundant across the country, has been ever since the UAE was formed by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who spared no efforts to spread the goodness and make it a legitimate and available right for everyone inside and outside the UAE. “This has been even completed by his successor by declaring 2017 the Year of Goodness. In fact, we’ve been living this slogan some 45 years ago.”

“We reiterate our appreciation for your sincere efforts in covering all sport, cultural and social events associated with the club in such a professional way, and wish you good luck indeed,” he concluded.

For his part, Salim Al Ameri, director of the UAE Red Crescent – Al Ain branch commented “the launch of such a decent initiative by Al Ain FC and its ongoing support for the efforts exerted by our national entities has forever been a distractive characteristic for the Club’s senior management, which for long embraced humanitarian initiatives made by the RC, in line with the state’s efforts in this field.”

“‘Goodness is in our field’ has a deep impact aims at activating the role of governmental as well as private institutions to undertake its part in providing the necessary support for the RC’s charity and humanitarian projects and activities through collecting cash donations from the administrative and technical staff, players and fans during the Club’s matches held at the HBZ stadium in order to support external projects. The first initiative will be dedicated to build a mosque (Al Ain fans), in addition to help in some humanitarian and health conditions.

Al Ain international defender, Mohanad Al Enzi, expressed – on behalf of his fellow players – deep appreciation and pride of such a wonderful humanitarian initiative within the framework of “Year of Goodness”, emphasizing readiness to participate especially as it is supervised by the UAE Red Crescent which represents one of the most prominent humanitarian institutions in assisting the needy inside and outside the country.
