“As per the program of the summer training camp, the Boss is scheduled to play its first friendly match this Wednesday 24th July 2019 against Celje FC of Slovenia’s Premier League at Bad Tatzmannsdorf Stadium in Austria,” Al Ain Team Manager, Matar Obeid Al Dhaheri, announced

He also stated that local players attached to the UAE National Football Team are to join their teammates on Tuesday 23rd July and both Togo’s Laba and Algeria’s Meziane will join the team once the completion of the procedures for the issuance of their visas.

He added: “Mohamed Ahmed will depart to Croatia on 25th July accompanied by the team’s doctor to assess his physical fitness and do the needful medical checkups for his knee under the supervision of the competent surgeon who has done surgery to the player’s knee recently. Mohammed Ahmad will rejoin the squad on the same day.”

Al Sahbani pointed out: “Returning to training sessions after a long break might cause the players to suffer from fatigue and muscles pain. Consequently, the medical staff would recommend giving certain players more break time to avoid any further complications and they usually join a special light training program at the gymnasium hall attached to the camp and other training sessions dedicated to stimulate the players’ muscles, in addition to swimming pool exercises and jacuzzi sessions.” He underlined that this is the reason why the decision was taken to cancel the first friendly game which was scheduled on 21st July because the number of players who attend the training sessions was only 18 players and there were certain players who were not fully fit to play or train.

“Indeed, during the home camp held in Al Ain City, the team conducted 7 training sessions at extreme temperatures and high rates of humidity. Then, the head coach gave the players a break on 17 July prior departing to Austria on 18th July to resume the training sessions here in the away camp,” Al Sahbani said.

He also confirmed that all is going well at the camp and in accordance with the pre-set program. “Each player is working hard to meet all the requirements of the detailed program. The good news is Ismail Ahmed has joined the collective training sessions; Mohammed Abdul Rahman is partially involved in the team’s collective training sessions along with certain individual training sessions to be fully ready fit for the coming stage. As for Mohammed Jamal, he is working hard to be fully ready and it is scheduled he will join the collective training sessions as of the next Monday.”

Training Sessions

Noteworthy, Al Ain First Football Team, under the command of Croatia’s head coach Ivan Leko, resumed their morning and evening training sessions as part of the first phase of the team’s preseason summer away training camp scheduled to be conducted during 18-28 July. All the squad players took part in the collective training sessions while Mohammed Jamal was involved in a special training program under the supervision of the PT Coach.
