Al Ain midfielder Ahmad Al Faresi underscored the importance of winning the match against Al Wahda in the quarter-finals of the Arabian Gulf Cup. He emphasized: “We are so determined to achieve the best result despite the current circumstances we are facing including missing the efforts of the key international players as well as the injured players. We hope that we play and show our best to prove to everybody that we deserve their trust and confidence.”

On the poor performance of the team during the past match against Al Nasr, he commented: Definitely, absences of key players have an impact on the team’s performance, but Al Ain is a big team and any player is required to exhibit the fighting spirit in defending the club’s logo no matter what the circumstances are, and we will not use this situation as an excuse for the negative result. We hope to improve our image in the coming match compared to the previous match through the great performance in the quarter-final match, especially the Head Coach worked hard on correcting mistakes and adopted new arrangements and reconfirmed his confidence in our ability to achieve the best result in Friday’s match.”

He signed off by saying: “The Head Coach’s trust is highly appreciated and his significant support to all the team’s players is valued. Absolutely, such a trust will be an incentive to do our best on the pitch.”
