H.E. Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of Al Ain Football Company, has approved the decisions and recommendations proposed by the Technical Committee for Professionalism and Spain’s Juan Carlos Garrido, Al Ain FC Head Coach. The decisions were taken to rearrange the internal affairs of the football first team and to prepare the team for the coming football season. The most prominent decision was the exclusion of Brazil’s Caio Lucas and the Portuguese Robin Ribeiro from the team’s list of names in the coming stage.

Al Hajeri hailed the spirit of fighting, determination and seriousness of the stars of the young players who have recently been selected by the head coach to be part of the team’s starting line-up. “They did well in the team’s training sessions, as well as their honorable and significant performance in their clash match against Al Sharjah. The proved to be eligible to defend the logo of their big team and they were up to it and met every one’s expectations.”

He added: “Al Ain Club’s strategy proved to be successful in several occasions. I do believe that giving the chance for the young skilled graduates of Al Ain football school and academy to defend Al Ain’s logo in the team’s various official competitions will be a good time for them to exhibit their genuine quality skills, give them the great experience and pave the way for them to experience the atmosphere of the first team and take advantage of the experience of the team’s stars. This will definitely enrich their experience and skills and make them ready as required in the very near future.”

Commenting on the question of whether the timing of giving the opportunity to young players to be part of the team’s starting line-up against Al Sharjah in such a clash match is a kind of risky decision taken by the head coach, he said: “As a matter of fact, we were looking forward to engaging the young players earlier than this and I do not think that was an adventurous or risky decision as much as it was a challenge and you know that football world is full of challenges. I think one of the greatest advantages that the coaching team gained was preparing these young fighters for future matches and showing trust in their talents and capacities.”

“The Technical Committee for Professionalism held an important meeting with the Head Coach after the team’s matches against Fujairah and Jazira directly and before the team’s match against Ajman. During that meeting several points of discussion were tackled and the attendees stressed the importance of the commitment to the strategic plans of the Club to achieve the pre-set goals at the technical, investment and marketing levels. Also, it was pointed out that showing trust in the young players’ capacities and skills contributes to the recovery of the key players of the team in preparation for the ACL matches as they in need for a good time for recovery and overcome the fatigue levels they suffer from.”

As for the team’s coming round 4 match, he commented: “I always say that the team’s management, fans and each member of this lofty club have unlimited trust in the champs of the teams, especially when it comes to defending the name and reputation of the UAE football. The history testifies that the Boss was up to the expectations in the continental and international confrontations. Moreover, the stars of the Boss proved in more than one occasion that the difficult conditions boost their strength in the big challenges.”
“One of the challenges that Al Ain FC faced this current season is temporary or other types of injuries suffered by certain players during their participation with the UAE National Football Team which had a negative impact on the level or readiness of the team. Additionally, we had a very tight schedule of the FIFA Club World Cup where the Boss played against the champs of the world continents within a very short period of time, as well as the resignation of the former Croatian technical staff who were replaced in the mid of the season by a Spanish coaching team and finally the negative results of the team in the ACL 2019. All of these issues were not easy to be overcome and need good space of time to be handled and overcome its negative impact,” Al Hajeri stated. He also underlined that he has full confidence in the Boss’ stars who are up to all challenges and that each member of the big club should be supporting the team and stand behind them to achieve the desired goals.

Al Hajeri praised the family spirit that prevails Al Ain Club and that any achievement is attributed to the efforts of the club’s staff and work system which is based primarily on the value and capabilities of the players and their sense of responsibility to defend the team’s logo, as well as the fans’ unlimited support for their team. “Absolutely, the coming match of round 4 is considered decisive. The Boss is a dire need for the massive support of the fans to maintain their chances to snatch one of the two qualifying cards of Group D to the next stage of the ACL 2019.”

In response to a question on his own opinion on the schedule of the current season of local competitions, he stated: “We do not seek excuses to justify losing all chances to compete to win any title this season. However, we have our observations that are submitted to the to the concerned committees of the UAE Football Association to be taken in consideration to further improve the level of the local competitions. We are doing so based on the Club’s key role to improve the football game at both local and continental levels.”

He concluded by saying: “Definitely, we are paying considerable efforts to prepare players who are able to take responsibility whenever they are assigned to carry out certain tasks to defend the logo of the Boss or the UAE National Team. Yet, the schedule developed by AUEFA sometimes negatively affects and disrupts the clubs’ efforts directed to achieve their own goals.”
