Al Hajeri: The “Year of Zayed” Cup Boosts Al Ain’s Aspirations to Clinch the Title

H.E. Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Chairman of Al Ain Club Football Company, expressed his pleasure with the initiative adopted by the UAE Football Association to name the final match of the UAE President’s Cup Championship 2018 as the “Year of Zayed Match” came as a show of real loyalty and tribute to the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, the UAE founder. the President’s Cup this year to be “Year of Zayed Cup” which brings Al Ain and Al Wasl together in the final match on Thursday 3rd May 2018 at Madinat Zayed Sports Stadium. The much-awaited game, between Al Ain FC and Al Wasl SC, is scheduled to take place on this coming Thursday 3rd May 2018 at Zayed Sport City Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

In his press statement, Al Hajeri stressed that attaching the theme of “Year of Zayed” to the dearest championship which holds a very dear and loved name to all our hearts, H.H. President of UAE, “Will definitely boost the players’ motives in the final match and it indeed embodies the concept of sportsmanship and sustain the noble principles and values that late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan had instilled in all Emiratis through the creative initiatives that embody the spirit of brotherhood and intimacy among the sons of our benevolent homeland and all who resides on its precious sands, even all nations of the world.”

“The initiatives adopted by late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan have been always linked to building the homeland and the human,” added he. He underscored, “Undoubtedly, such initiatives have already turned our beloved State to be a leading model in all fields of development, particularly sports where the Arab Wiseman’s point of view was so insightful in a way that it set the future vision of UAE sport.”

Al Hajeri stated: “All UAE clubs have a tradition to congratulate the two teams qualified to the final match in the dearest competition to win the title of the President’s Cup as both of them will have the honor of shaking hands with our wise leaders.”

Al Ain Club Chairman emphasized that “Al Ain and Al Wasl deserve to be qualified to the final match compared to their stunning levels of performance they exhibited during the current football season.” He concluded his statement by expressing his best wishes of good luck to the two sides of EL Clasico of UAE and to “amuse spectators through a hilarious great match worthy of the name and reputation of UAE football while marking the end of the local football season.”
