H.E Hum Mohamed Bin Ghammad Al Rashedi, UAE ambassador to Qatar, saw 4 factors that will tip the balance of today’s match in favor of Al Ain. First, the players’ technical capabilities and determination to regain the AFC title; second, the great experience accumulated by the current team from reaching at advances stages of the AFC championship during the last 3 years; third, Al Ain’s first-leg 3-1 win; finally, other clear superiority-related factors that grant Al Ain a privilege over their hosts. “However, we must rely on this; a high-performing team will be always rewarded in football. Hopefully, Al Ain will move to the final,” he said.
He believed that Al Ain has become so mature that it deserves to win the AFC title; “That’s why Al Ain is the best team to represent UAE in the AFC tournament backed with good results and high performance.” He added.
“The progress and distinction made by the National team and other teams,” he continued, “that represented UAE in several championships is attributed to the great support and auspicious patronage provided by our insightful leadership to all entities including sports clubs.”
He refused to speculate on today’s match as football does not recognize predictions; “However, I feel Al Ain will prevail 2-0. Hopefully, the players will play their best to prove their eligibility to represent West Asia to the most powerful championship in Asia.” He concluded.
