Our Strategy is Crystal-Clear, and We Only Focus on Each Match Separately

We, Will, Adopt a “Rotation Policy” in All Our Coming Matches

My Philosophy in Preparing the Team for All Matches is to Play More Matches

“We Always face countless challenges to prepare for matches following any long break. Therefore, we played three friendly matches during the recent break to ensure players maintain the same tempo and play in harmony, as well as improving the team’s performance,” Sergiy Rebrov stated in the pre-match press conference held this evening to tackle technical preparations for matchweek 21 of ADNOC Pro League against Shabab Al Ahli.

Ukraine’s head coach of the Al Ain Team added: “Recent break extended for one month, and playing friendly matches was important for the team to maintain the top level of performance.”

As for the coming match against Shabab Al Ahli, he said it would be an excellent opportunity to assess the team’s level of readiness.

“It will not be an easy match, given that we will miss the team’s fans. However, the Boss squad will fight for the badge and make the fans happy.”

Commenting on a question regarding the massive number of friendly matches the team played this season, he said: “My philosophy in preparing the team depends on playing many matches, even if we have a break in the mid of the season. We have played 22 matches because there were many breaks during this season; it is a real problem! Therefore, it was necessary to compensate for not playing official matches continuously with friendly confrontations.”

He also pointed out: “I do not remember that my team played so many friendly matches throughout my career during one season, but I had to play 22 friendlies because of the many breaks.”

On playing against Shabab Al Ahli twice in two different competitions within four days, he said: “Actually, our strategy is crystal-clear, i.e., all competitions are important. Currently, we compete in two different competitions: ADNOC Pro League and PLC Pro Cup. Therefore, we deal with each match according to the principle of focusing on each match separately. Indeed, the most important match for us now is the league one, for sure.”

He concluded his statement by saying: “We will play a match every three days, and we will adopt a rotation policy that imposes one fact that is any player in the team’s lineup is very important.”
