Khalid Eisa, Al-Ain’s goalkeeper and the winner of the best player trophy in his team’s match vs Al-Wahda, said: “I have already mentioned before the match begins that in such games, the players must perform very well, respecting all other squads because we are well aware of  what do Al-Ain vs Al-Wahda matches mean, and we thank Allah who assisted us in qualifying to the quarter-finals stage of the most precious of all tournaments, while we ask Allah Almighty for continuous success for me and my teammates in achieving victory with reaping scores.”

He added: “Today, our task was not an easy task, while we were unable to amuse our fans by scoring too many goals, thus we must build on the positivities that accompanied our squad during our last three matches vs Al-Wahda, Nasaf, and Ittihad Kalba.

He went on: “I wish to point out that Al-Ain’s manager has the needed experience to deal with such matches, while everybody knows who is Hernán Crespo, and the truth is that he has, thankfully, summarized today’s match on three areas, which are achieving victory in direct matches, applying pressure on the competitor on his pitch, and showing the winning spirit that tipped the balance in our favor on the pitch.

Commenting on a question on whether defending the manager was due to him being criticized on social media, he said: “In the beginning, please let me emphasize the truth in our team’s vision that we are one family consisting of a manager, players, fans, employees, and everybody affiliated with Al-Ain. In my opinion, I think that ‘satisfying people is a goal that cannot be met’, and I kept reiterating these words to my teammates. We are in the age of social media, so any word addressed to anyone in any language, will be found translated in your mother tongue once you click on only one button. The manager knows what is written about him, but what I like about the manager is that he only cares for his job, works to achieve his goals, and always emphasizing that we are all on a one boat, while each one of us complements the other, and we are lucky to have such manager and his assisting crew.”
