The Captain of the Boss squad, Bandar Al Ahbabi, put an accent on the importance of the next round 16 matches of the President’s Cup against Khorfakkan as part of the championship that holds the dearest name.

“We all know well what we are meant to do to continue our journey in this competition and wish the Boss squad all the best,” Bandar Al Ahbabi said.

Commenting on a question on the improvement of the team’s results in the league and how this will influence the team’s performance and results in the President’s Cup, he said: “For sure, the cups’ matches have their special nature and requires exerting lots of efforts as there are no other chances to compensate, contrary to league matches.”

“We must close the chapter of the league and focus on our next match against Khorfakkan. We hope to win the home team within the match’s original time and not to play extra time.”

Bandar added: “It is a fact that there is no easy match in the football game, and we respect all opponents. I always stress that we fear no team as much as we focus on performing well in each match that we prepare separately. It is in the hands of the players on the pitch who determine to make the team’s mission easy or difficult.”

He referred to the recent match against Ajman, one of the best teams this season, as an example of the team’s high level of performance.

Bandar pointed out that he trusts Ainawi fans will attend the match and be at Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasemi Stadium in Khorfakkan Stadium by 100%.

“Whether we are playing at home or it is an away match, we are used to being supported by the lovers of the Al Ain Team’s fans in all stadiums, and it is a fact that we are always experiencing,” he said.

He signed off by saying: “As I stated earlier, we know well what we are meant to do and will push ourselves to the limit and perform honorably to snatch the match’s three points and qualify for the next stage of the President’s Cup.”
