Despite losing to the Emirates Team tonight, we qualified to the next stage of the Pro League Cup as we had the upper hand in the first leg match held in Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, Sergiy Rebrov stated in the post-match press conference dedicated for the second leg match against the Emirates FC.
He pointed out that it is all about results that determine the team who qualifies in cups matches.
Rebrov added that time frame between the first and second leg matches and the league matches was so tight, so it has impacted the team’s preparations for the league match against Shabab Al Ahli scheduled to be held on this Friday 29 October.
Commenting on the team’s performance tonight, he said: “We have seen that certain players did not perform as required to various reasons. However, as I stated earlier, the most important thing tonight is that we qualified to the quarterfinals.”
