In a press statement to Al Ain Media Office, H.E. Mohamed Obaid Hammad, Member of Board of Directors of Al Ain Football Club Company and General Supervisor of the First and Reserve Football Teams, emphasized that Al Ain’s Captain Omar Abdul Rahman will be one of the options of the Croatia’s Head Coach, Zoran Mamic, when the team faces the visitors, Bahrain’s Malkiya FC, in the match scheduled to be held as part of the qualification stage of the AFC Champions League. He underscored: “The penalty against Amoory is specific and explicit, i.e. it is limited to local confrontations.” He added: “Al Ain would file an appeal against the suspension decision issued by the Disciplinary Committee, particularly that there is plenty of time for such a move.”

Concerning the level of mission easiness of Al Ain against Bahrain’s Malkiya, he stated: “We will be facing an important challenge in the team’s first step in the continental journey. All pre-match gossips and speculations are not the standard as the reality of football reveals that the technical level of teams is measured by the performance in the pitch and within the time allotted for the match.” He also said: “We did witness certain big teams driven out of international competitions contrary to all pre-speculations despite massive differences in terms of their level of performance and capabilities. It is indeed the performance in the field that dictate the final word and the scale for all likelihoods.”

Hammad stressed the fact that the team’s Head Coach Zoran “knows all the details related to the match and he has many options. Actually, he is the decision-maker to pick players and form his appropriate squad.” He pointed out: “Undoubtedly, he is well aware of the fact that his team still has important challenges to face and he might give the chance for certain players to play in the coming match and give others a breathtaking time while being committed to exhibit an honorable strong performance that is worthy of the name and reputation of the “Boss.”

“The team’s conditions with the kickoff of the Asian journey is much better compared to the first half of the season which was characterized by several absences because of injuries, suspensions and being unfit to play,” said he. He concluded his statement by saying: “Currently, 90% of the players are fit and ready to go, and above all the Head Coach has many options. We all do wish the team the best of luck and be able to achieve its ambitions and making its fans happy.”
